Bai is also known to have attempted to have Hsu Hsin-liang (許信良) assassinated by Kung Fu star Jimmy Wang Yu (王羽) during the 1980s.〔Liberty Times (Big5) ("Ordered to Assassinate Hsu" ) Retrieved October 16, 2007.〕 == Life and career == In China, in 1939 Bai joined the Kuomintang's Three Principles of the People Youth Brigades and rose to the position of Branch Leader. After joining the army he worked in various capacities as an intelligence officer. In the Mainland Operations Office, Bai oversaw parts of the crackdown on dissidents in Taiwan and abroad after the Kaohsiung Incident.
